The future of Bicentennial Square is taking shape, with the masterplan now endorsed by Council following two stages of community and stakeholder engagement.
Bicentennial Square is one of Bunbury's most significant public spaces, located between the City Centre and the Leschenault Inlet waterfront. The project aims to transform the precinct into a vibrant, accessible and welcoming destination that celebrates Bunbury's unique identity while creating new opportunities for recreation, events, tourism and economic growth.
The endorsed masterplan has been informed by extensive community and stakeholder feedback, technical studies, traffic modelling and strategic planning. It outlines a long-term vision to strengthen the connection between the City Centre and waterfront, enhance public spaces, celebrate the precinct's heritage assets and create a destination that can be enjoyed by residents and visitors year-round.
The endorsed masterplan includes six key precinct areas:

- Station Forecourt
- Central Plaza
- Central Foreshore
- Symmons Street
- Foreshore South
What's happening now?
The City is progressing detailed design work, investigating funding opportunities and planning staged delivery of the project. Community engagement will continue as detailed planning progresses.
